Dear Graywater Aficionados:
I am taking the lead in planning the annual conference and trade show
this year for the California Onsite Wastewater Association (COWA). COWA
is the only entity in our state that represents all onsite wastewater
stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, landscape architects,
Realtors, homebuilders, academia, and product manufacturers, as well as
regulators. With about 300 members and a newsletter that goes out ot
over 1,000 stakeholders, COWA has historically had a significant impact
on wastewater policy in California.
This broad representation makes COWA ideally suited to address and shed
light complex, multi-faceted issues, such as graywater reuse, recycled
water (wastewater), and rainwater harvesting, which will be to focus of
this year's annual conference and trade show. Our plan is to use the
Internet to project speakers from around the world and across the
country, as well as speakers from California, onto our 13-ft screen.
We know that these are difficult economic times, and after extensive
planning and consultation, we have incorporated other cost-saving
innovations that will allow us to keep registration fees to a bare
minimum. Instead of one, large 3+ day conference held at a costly hotel,
we are planning to hold two regional, 2-day conferences in comfortable
but cost-conscious venues. For example, the Northern California
conference will be held on at the Gold Country Casino, which has a
beautiful, well equipped conference room and delicious food, but doesn't
cost an arm and a leg. We are also planning the conference to be held in
late Fall so that the conference can be budgeted by regulators under
severe travel restrictions.
I hope you can see the tremendous potential value of this conference.
Now I need your help!!!!!
Specifically, I need names and contact information for potential
speakers from the locales shown below. Also if you know the potential
speakers, it would be helpful if you contacted them and put in a good
word for the conference.
* Israel
* Palestine
* Jordan
* Australia
* Germany
* (Other international suggestions?)
* Texas
* Arizona
* New Mexico
* Colorado
* I have contacts in WA
* (Other USA-based suggestions?)
* Who from this group would be willing to present or have a booth
at the conference (no speaker fees and there will be a booth fee of some
sort)
Thank you in advance for any assistance in this matter.
